Net Explorers Wave Goodbye to osCommerce
After providing hosting for osCommerce websites for many years we have come to a difficult decision. As of October 2008 we will no longer provide hosting for osCommerce version 2. Whilst we will continue to host osCommerce websites that were set up before this time we will not support it on any new hosting accounts.
At the time of writing osCommerce 3 is in development and at alpha stage 4. When it reaches the end of the beta phase we will make an assessment on whether or not we want to host it. Hopefully the developers will address the many performance and security issues that exist in the current version.

Hi, You should be made aware of the fact that as of November 2008 a new Team are coming together under the “oscommerceproject.org” to final MS2 and to complete MS3 Alpha 4. This will provide a new and alternative development stream to that provided by the old project.

Hello Simon,
Please ignore the above post, since this bogus osCommerce project will soon be taken offline due to a multitude of legal issues including copyright and trademark infringment and infringement of the GPL license terms under which osCommerce is distributed.

Hi,
Taking into account the above post, would you consider forwarding osCommerce hosting requests to another company?

I don’t think we will be passing on osCommerce hosting enquiries I’m afraid. We are currently looking at alternatives including ZenCart and Magento. We hope to be able to offer customers an alternative to osCommerce very soon

Hi, Some time ago I posted a rebuttal to Matti Resslers post where he described the new osCommerce Project as “bogus”. I am the leader of that new project. Whilst it is your right not to post my rebuttal I would ask that if you don’t publish our rebuttal that you then remove Matti Ressler’s libelous post.
Many Thanks - Rhea Anthony

Hi Rhea. I’m not sure what happened to your last post. The only reason we wouldn’t publish it is if we thought it was spam or if Askimet automatically flagged it as spam. We may have deleted it in error.
By all means post it again and we will be happy to publish
