Compare how many sites link to your competitors' sites and your own by following these simple steps:

  1. Go to www.google.com
  2. Search for a phrase you want to rank highly for
  3. Copy the website address of the site in the number 1 position and perform a new search with it:
    'link:www.copiedaddress.com'
    without the quotation marks.
  4. In the top right and section of the page look for the text that looks something like this:
    Results 1 - 10 of about 200 linking to www.copiedaddress.com
    This shows you how many inbound links the www.copiedaddress.com website has.
  5. Repeat this with your own site address and compare the number of sites linking to it.

Remember the more links you have the higher your site will rank, but only high quality links will have the desired effect. If you use 'link farms', 'Free For All link' pages or simply get links from low quality or irrelevant sites it can even have the opposite effect. We only get high quality links from the best sites.
